Sweet Wednesday Morning

Oh what does this morning have to bring to me so far? A nice cup of coffee and spending some GOOD quality time with my roommates.. Yes, I live at home. Therefore, "mom and dad" are now the friends I get to kick it with. God let this be a good year.

I say there's nothing better than sitting in pajamas, listening to country music, and looking outside to a beautiful day. Love love love it!

So last week, my dear sweet ALEESA came home to me. What a joy THAT was :)We pretty much jumped into each other's arms and didn't let go. A good friend like her is SO hard to come by.

And then on Friday morning I got to play bad guys with Cam Cam! As much as we are different we both are about 3 years old. This is why we are amigos.

I also have been spending time with old friends like my old friend Alyssa, Meleah, Kimmy, and Anne!! Being home is so bittersweet.. I miss the independence of living on my own and feeling so accountable for myself but there's nothing like having your parents to cuddle up to at night time when you're lonely. If I REALLY wanted to, I bet they'd still let me go in their bed if I was having a bad dream...... Hold the phones.. Did I really just say that!!?? I'M 19!!! Not 2.. Sweet Josephine, maybe it's time to go on Craig's list and search for some houses! So just pretend I didn't say that! Pfewww!

I also went and met up with Annie bo bannie yesterday afternoon.. Talk about 4 hours at Red Robin in love. She's SUCH a good person. I love how she just makes me want to be a better person.

Any who, these are just some perks of being home that I have realized. They make my heart sing melodies and are the reasoning that my happy feet are slowly coming back. Now I understand why the birds sing in the morning, they strip the bad out of Temecula and realize it's a new day for happiness!

Now to focus on getting back into the groove of school and all that jazz... Oh how I miss going to fill my brain with such lovely knowledge!

End of Summer

If I told you that this summer was full of traveling and new experiences, countless shopping trips and spending money, or tanning and weekly adventures to the beach, i'd be lying. I suppose this summer was one of those "this is where you find out who really matters" type of lessons. Which in the end, was just what I wanted to experience.

I got a babysitting job for the summer, which helped me pay through some quite unfortunate payments due to not returning to Chico this fall. But nonetheless, I met a little cutie by the name of Cameron. He quickly became the highlight to everyone's day. He was just the cutest little boy yet could wear me out in the matter of minutes. I swear, I think I have played enough "shoot the bad guys" and made enough pb&j's to last me a lifetime. But who am I kidding, wait until motherhood. I have now lowered my future children amount from 8 to maybe 2 or 3. AND NOT FOR A WHILE. Sheeeesh! ANYWHO, so that was that.

Family: can't even remember the last time we were all together in the same place, hence a photo needed to be taken

And then of course the friend time:

Welp, that's all folks!

pointless bo bointless

Blog: an online diary; a personal chronological log of thoughts published on a Web page; also called Weblog, Web log..

An online diary, hmmm. I find that fascinating because..

Diary: a daily record, usually private, esp. of the writer's own experiences, observations, feelings, attitudes, etc.

So why is it online if it's supposed to be private?

ANYWHO... I guess this is my diary for the day.

P.S. WARNING: this is full of rambling, pointless and half stated thoughts, pure nonsense, minimal to no humor, and insight into my procrastination methods.. either click to the next page ASAP or grab some popcorn and join my rambling.

Shmello diary bo biary, tis I, Ashley the procrastinator of room 631 in Whitney Hall. This comparative and contrasting essay can hold off for a few days, although it's due in approximately an hour and a half [i'm sneaky sneaky]. I am surprisingly not stressed for finals, I think the procrastination has made me realize that "crunch time" is so much easier to deal with. Ashley Dods stress= fluffier hair than usual, laundry bag full of pjs due to the lazyness to change into clothes, therefore, just changing from one pj set to another, runny nose and sniffing noises, you can find her passed out with sunglasses on so no one thinks she's sleeping but in turn she's just procrastinating, make up is nowhere in sight, possibly a messy room, stacks of papers, and lots of doodling of the word "lemonade, lauren, or september" don't ask why!

This weather up here is getting old.. Plain and simple. Raining one day, 70's the next, tornadoes of wind, what's next??

Thought list:
1. essay, ugh
2. cold feet, runny nose, SICK
3. good weekend with mama and daddy
4. moving out in a week, ritcheous
5. texting basis= shwinggg
6. hmm want/need money.. this could get interesting
7. i wanna go shopping, dangit
8. hair is fuzzy, BIG WHOOOP
9. need to put my camera to use soon

I want flowers for my room, is that too much to ask? I mean they would just possibly lighten up the awkward mood of finals creeping towards us.. Possibly add color to the nude walls that have been semi-stripped aside from the John Bellucci poster on our wall.

I would also enjoy if another "Bill" figure popped up into my life.. If only I wasn't so busy procrastinating I could probably get my butt off the dirty dorm room floor and go searching for someone in need of help but then i'd soon find myself being paranoid about my prior duties, aka needing to do work but not doing it. still annoying

Does my teacher really want to read about the comparison and contrasts of John D. Rockefeller and Donald Trump's unfortunate comb-over of a self.. I mean I don't see how that would be interesting to anyone with a life. Why can't I write about my really rad weekend or the reason I have fluffy hair up here every single day?.. Something that I actually could write a decent and detailed essay about. But then again, I'm sure my professor doesn't want to read about my frazzled hair and experience of seeing iron man 2... So I guess I can always fill my readers in with that kinda boring stuff.

Mothers day weekend:
1. Airport with Anne
2. Mom and Dad pick me up
3. See Linds!
4. Go to Bobby's
5. Lunch with mom and dad at Red Robin
6. See Iron Man 2
7. Go shopping with daddy and spend quality time
8. Watch mom make cinnamon rolls
9. Baby photos- oh no!
10. Say goodbye's :(

I'd say it was a good weekend to me! Aside from the fact it didn't last long enough.

Do you ever just wanna see how old friends are but it would be waaaay too awkward to talk to them? Yeah okay well that's what's happening in my life at the moment.. Probably better just to ignore it. Yep, it is!

God forbid I ever start on this paper....

I don't know what is and isn't appropriate on here, hmmm. If only I knew my limits!

[Hi Mom, how are you doing? Sorry I didn't call you today. Hope your having a lovely day! xoxo]

Well now that i've managed to bore all of you with my pointless thoughts I guess i've accomplished all that i've needed to. Good day sir.

Days like these

It's days like these where you have so much to say but silence is your best answer. It's days like these where a burning hot shower doesn't even phase you because you're distracted by the beautiful White Orchard Milk and Warm Vanilla Essence of your soap. It's days like these that you turn up J.Bieber and wonder why he's singing about such intense relationships but you don't care cause his little girl voice is slightly godly. Yes, a 13 year old can be considered as godly. It's days like these where you take a nap and get mad cause you wake up with no memory of any dreams you had... therefore, a waste of a nap. It's days like these where the 7 bracelets up my arm need a few more to turn a kick back into a party. It's days like these where you just leave your phone in your room because there is no one who can alter a day like this more than it already has been altered. It's days like these where your room has been his by the atom bomb and you are completely content and comfortable with just basking in it's fluffiness. It's days like these where you kid yourself that "Smart Water" might actually help you get an A on the 7 page paper you are writing. It's days like these where you think too much and aren't actually listening to the words that come out of the mouths around you. It's days like these that my favorite Green/Blue nail polish has become the reason your day is like this and that pink is the new green/blue. It's days like these where one second your heart is racing and blood is pumping faster than ever through your veins yet you are in a constant stare with a dull facial expression. It's days like these where you let other people take the reins instead of controlling the things you can not. It's days like these where you just want to excessively write "it's days like these" just because your fingers are so shakey that they need to do something productive. It's days like these where you make a pbj at dinner and end up destroying it and turning it into Frankenstein because you have a loss of appetite. It's days like these where technology is just not cuttin it for ya. It's days like these where a nice warm hug is needed but the people to give one to you are 600 miles away. It's days like these where I realize I am 19, not 37. It's days like these where a simple day at a secret spot is much needed. It's days like these where your puzzle's missing pieces will appear tomorrow. Tomorrow, will not be a day like this.

Stories that shall be remembered..

This year, ohhhh this year ha, is finally coming to an end THANKFULLY... Lemme just fill my readers in [errrr my mom and aunt.. yeaaah i'm a loser, no big deal] on some of the highlights to my freshman year in college. Warning: don't judge this blog, keep in mind it's my freshman year ha.

Firstly, let's just say some memories are better left not remembered for the sole purpose that they are completely and utterly embarrassing.. Like not, oh I peed my bed embarrassing, it's more like oh I peed my bed, threw up on the floor in the fetal position, and now i'm going to class in my pink Snuggie and heels. Ya know what, scratch embarrassing, more like classy!

Anywho, at the start of the year I was given a roommate who wasn't necessarily someone who I would get along with, due to the fact she was talkin smack on me while I was in the room and she didn't know, but we're past that.. Now we talk smack to each others faces. Okay not really cause we've made the decision to put up with each other another year and live together AGAIN. We're in love. Annnnnd i'm off track once again.. SO our first night of rekindling our new friendship for the second time ended in this:

Yes, she fell off her bunk bed onto an air conditioning vent and managed to almost fall out our window, on the 6th floor, and completely massacred our blinds with her flopping body on the way down. This is why I wanted to be her friend. Wouldn't you agree?

Another lovely memory was "THE SNUGGIE NIGHT".. Now I must not go into detail about this horrid night but let's just say I was able to do everything in my Panda slippers and Pink Snuggie.. And i'm down with that. This was oneeee expensive night, and a life learning lesson to say the least. All I gotta say was I was "that girl".. the one that ruins the party, or the girl that just kills the vibe when everyone's havin fun, the girl you just wanna kick write "kick me" on a slab of paper and slap it onto my back, ya know, THAT GIRL... The sight of 7th and Ivy still terrorizes my thoughts.

Don't we look oh so attractive? Pause..... Notttt... Borat, Anyone? Anyone? Okay or not.

Also, if being a Panda for halloween isn't grool then I don't know what is...

Not to mention a Panda doing the Stankyyy Leg... Super GROOL!

Oh and btw...

1. grool: great and cool put together
For example:
person one: Hey there is a party this friday, are you coming?
person two: ya totally
person one: Grool!!!!!!

[I HATE the word Grool.. It might be the most irrelevant word in urban dictionary but I felt it was appropriate for the situation at hand.... Oh and for all you "older generation" folks, go watch Mean Girls... You shall then understand...]

And back to my story.. THIS is when I fell into a GIANT MASSIVE EXPLOSIVE SICKY-SICKY-GNAR-GNAR mud puddle.. Who has a mud puddle behind the tarp of their get together, HONESTLY?!?! Completely ruined my pink walmart shoes. Those were the best 5 dollar investment ever and they were slaughtered by this inconspicuous and RUDE puddle. I still have a grudge to the 5th and Ivy house that ate my shoes.

Rest in Peace majestical shoes.

Anyways, I realized this blog isn't going to do justice to any of these experiences. They barely even express a chip of the hilarity these stories have shared with our floor. So, I shall depart this ship of reminiscing now. This fable is not up to par with the occurrences we have faced to this day BUT there will be more indeed. A lot can happen in the 19 days we have left here in this humble abode of Whitney Hall.

Stories that shall be remembered: Check! (:

Blashiblahblah Blog

These Beautiful Creatures
are just the creme of the crop..
No wonder why we are friends. But we dearly missed Parka 4 who was on a date and could not attend this awful roadtrip.

Boredom is upon me once again. Too much drama on the floor so daily 6 hour naps have become a more common occurrence than not, staying up until 3 am to finish homework while everyone's asleep, and wearing pj's everywhere is my new agenda.. The dark bags under my eyes and fluffy hair sound attractive, I know, it's more majestical in person! Today I dreamed that I accidentally ran off with the Queen of England's ring, what a lucky grab!
Anyways, to escape this little rough patch of drama, I received an oh so uplifting text message saying "Hi Ashley, why don't you fly home for mothers day weekend?" SHE KNOWS ME TOO WELL!!!! (: Like number one, she can't go wrong with saying I need some mom time, the four phone calls a day justify's that.. But the fact she reminded me I'd be seeing my A.P.P. cause I miss her terribly was perfect!

This little A.P.P.
I surely miss her and our walks through bike jumps talking about flowers
She's just my favoriteeee twin there ever wasss!

Anywaaaays. I miss my mom. AND. I miss my A.P.P.. AND. I miss my daaaaaaaad. Sometimes Emily too, okay a lot more then sometimeeees. AND. Also my second family and being daughter number four (:

I'm going to go spend some time with my PARKAS
[I will talk more about them next time]

Roadtrip full of love

Oh how last minute road trip's end up to be absolutely blissful, exotic, and full of life. On this particular weekend, we jumped into a vehicle unaware of what was to lie ahead just hours later. We were, once again, off to another trek to St. Mary's to visit the one and only Brenden Kalfus, aka BBFF aka Alyssa's Boyfriend aka Brenbino [my new baseball name for him, inspired by the great bambino] aka that kid, or something. Anyways, I will try my best to make it feel as if you were there for the expedition. And we all know, Ashley Dods HAS to ALWAYS have a good time..
EXAMPLE ONE:
Yes, yes, yes, I know... "how dangerous hanging out of a window like that", "put your seatbelt on young lady", yadda yadda yadda. But, I had to lighten up the mood of the 3 hour car ride by taking my companion 'Rawry the Panda Pillow' and myself out for a little fresh air. We live life on the edge, CLEARLY. [Cough Cough, And later on out the sun roof, no big deal.. (: Cough.] Any who, after being D.J. for what seemed to be the time it took from the Renaissance era to Modern day, or an hour, which ever paints more of a vivid picture of the lengthiness of this segment, I moved on to bigger and better things. I decided to stay in the car and do some interpretive dancing. AND some serious fooling around.
EXAMPLE TWO:
Anne and I, yes the girl who's in every other one of my blogs, came across these beautiful ears in midst of our krumping. We thought it would be very very appropriate to take a snap of this disney-full discovery.

AND YAAAAY WE ARRIVED!

We then embarked onto the journey of going to San Francisco to watch Brenden play at the AT&T park. So, obvi, we had to do another fun ride on the BART! woooo! [also, we had to say goodbye to Anne so that she could go off to hang with her friends]
EXAMPLE THREE:
After getting there, we had to walk in circles and miles and roundabouts in order to find the stadium. Took long enough, ughhhh.
EXAMPLE FOUR:
We enjoyed this so much that we got a train on the way back. One of the wiser decisions we made that day.

TADAAAA! We made it!
EXAMPLE FIVE:
Surprisingly, it was amazing weather! And they had the cutest little bat boy that we fell in love with. The sad thing, for me, was I didn't even have service in the AT&T park.. It's like some sort of sick joke. Altogether, day one was a success and we were extremely exhausted... especially because I was running on three hours of sleep from the night before. College will do that to you.

We then woke up the next morning and did some shopping in Walnut Creek. We went to the Cheesecake Factory and HAD to go to Urban Outfitters while we were there. I scored on some, at the time, OMG-so-cute-and-inexpensive-I-MUST-get-this items, which ended up not being put to good use. One day though, one day! We then rushed back to watch another one of Brenden's games. Which they won, 5 to 1! Gooood Job Bren!
EXAMPLE SIX:
It was a beautiful day, aside from the puff puff's blowing all across the field the whole entire game. Unfortunately, my fun time ended here seeing how I got sick and became a pajama infested freak the rest of the day/night. Not really embarrassing or anything. I just wanted my mom, okay!?!?!?!

We drove home today and in the midst of the drive, I came up with a master plan...
EXAMPLE SEVEN:
[last and final example]
[Don't mind our award winning appearance]
We folded the seats and took a nap! Another unsafe but oh so fun idea!!! All in all, we had quite the adventure and now have to get back to our boring lives as students, BUUTTT

31 days left until summer!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Adios amigos!

Just another day

Today was just one of those plain t-shirt and a little make-up, not rainy but not sunny, running on 4 hours of sleep, room's a mess, don't feel like going to the gym, lots of accidental naps, and omg-i-have-a-midterm-i-forgot-about type of days. Nothing big. Nothing exciting. Nothing coooool enough to make it on the blog. Or so I thought.
I mean, don't get me wrong, I love days like these. They're just lovely. For instance, I had a glorious lunch/catch up time with Alyssa, Anne, and Vivian in the not-so-cool BMU, attended a Charity Denim sale today in which proceeds went toward education, support, and research for diabetes [Alyssa, being a millionaire, was able to help towards that fund with buying a pair of snazzy jeans], and lastly, went into town for a little excursion to get out of the dorms.
But what really brightened my day was my daily Skype chat with a true angel; my mama. Her comparison of God to a computer was quite different from the norm. It's like I can almost still here her enthusiastic and genuinely adorable self saying "Ash Dod, I was thinking and what goes around comes around even works in positive ways. Look at it this way, the good feelings you get from doing good deeds is God talking to you. Imagine God being Facebook, every time you get something new, it's exciting!" She's just a peach! A little outta control but I like to keep her around. (:

-Which reminds me, just 35 days until I get to see her shining face!!!!! [yes, i'm counting down.]-

Anyways, I guess it's time to get back to being studious, or whatever you people think i'm doing up here. [Just kidding mom. I'm being my intellectual self. Don't you fret!] (:

Over and out ladies and gentleman.

Helping one find his way

If there has been any certain day that has made up for all of the countless hours of studying, long nights of staying in to cram, cleaning and re-cleaning my room every five minutes, the 600 loads of laundry that piles up under my bed, or eating the unbearable Whitney dining food, today was it.

On the way to dropping off my dear sweet best friend, Alyssa, to the bus station we ran into a little fella who was looking for directions.
This is Bill. Bless his soul, he left a bag of clothing on the bus so he needed help retrieving it. We gave him directions and sent him on his way. After saying auvoir to Alyssa, Anne and I started our trek back to the dorms. On our way, we saw Bill going in the wrong direction to who knows where! After chasing after him [yes, sprinting] we finally decided just to walk him to the station to make sure he got there safely.

Now, yes I know this is where other people would tell us that he could've been a rapist and my mother would say "What did I tell you about talking to strangers?" but I couldn't let this opportunity to make a difference in someone's day just pass me by, could I? NO! He told us his life story and was just the cutest elderly man we'd ever seen! He thanked us the whole journey there, showered us with compliments like "there should be more people in the world like you two", and insisted that he take us to the nicest place in town for some food. We couldn't even imagine taking anything else but his wisdom and friendliness that we denied the offer. Unfortunately, he was unable to retrieve the new clothes that he had bought in order to impress his family and prior job in the Army back in Texas. What a sweetie!
All in all, this encounter reassured me that there are opportunities one must take in order to change or better themselves. This was mine. I had never felt such a rush of joy and happiness such as this in quite some time. Bill managed to make a bigger impact on my life, in the 40 minutes that we spent with him, then most of the people I've known for years.

A Day Without Shoes

As some of you might already know, each time you purchase a pair of TOMS shoes, they provide a pair of shoes to a child in need. And on this special day, TOMS is trying to raise awareness by having as many people as possible not wear shoes. So, my dear friend Annebelle [Anne Towles] and Moi took our shoe-less feet on a trek through Chico.

We went near and far on our shoe-less voyage! Even downtown to the farmers market!

Yes, we might be a little crazy. Yes, everyone stared us thinking we were weirdo's. Yes, our feet are in agony. And, yes there are kids that go through this excruciating pain on a daily basis. But all in all, i'm thankful for my vans, rainbows, fluffy cheetah slippers, or whatever else I get to cover my feet with.

A day without shoes: Check! (:
